Hey friends and fam of Bremerton Zine Fest,

I’m writing with a quick update and a big ol’ THANK YOU for being the backbone of BZF. Your encouragement, creativity, and community spirit are what make this festival so special.

First, I’ve got some good news and some not-so-good news—so let’s rip off the band-aid, yeah?

The not-so-good news: After a lot of back-and-forth, we weren’t able to lock in the logistics needed to support a full BZF in 2025. It just didn’t come together in the timeframe we needed, and between some big personal health stuff and some heavy family things (oh, and the US having its own... “technical difficulties” lately), it became clear that the best choice for now is to pause on doing a full-scale festival next year.

The good news: We’re not going anywhere. In fact, we’ve got two locations interested in hosting zine swaps in 2025! These will be more low-key than the full fest, but still full of good vibes and community connections. I’ll be posting details about those soon on the BZF website.

More good news? We’re looking ahead with a tentative plan for a full Bremerton Zine Fest in 2026—and I’m really hopeful.

Oh! And here’s a big cheer moment: Virgil from Photoverge Studio is stepping in to help with festival planning. If you know Virgil, you know his heart and creative energy are a perfect match for BZF. I’m so incredibly grateful for the help—it’s coming at just the right time, and I can’t wait to see how we can grow the fest together.

Thank you again for being part of this weird, beautiful, zinester family. I’m constantly inspired by your work and your presence, and I can’t wait to see what we make next. Stay tuned—there’s more to come.

With so much appreciation,

Dani Gray
